Michael Lugiano shot an even-par, 72 Monday on the Barefoot Resort and Golf Love Course to hit the midway point of the Grand Final of the Sir Nick Faldo/Hurricane Tour in second place.
Lugiano is two strokes behind Lesego “Lucky” Cruz in the 25-player field in the Boys 14-15 Division. The Lake-Lehman sophomore tees off for the second and final round Tuesday at 9:12 a.m.
Kyleen McCance from Hanover Area is tied for 14th out of 27 players in the Girls 14-18 Division after shooting an 80 Monday.
Lugiano, the District 2 Class 2A champion, and McCance, the district runner-up, passed up this week’s state high school golf championships to play in the national event.
