Mia Snyder scored 30 points and Montrose overcame 13 baskets from 3-point range by visiting Lakeland to post a 76-48, non-league victory Thursday night in girls basketball.
Montrose allowed Lakeland just a pair of two-point baskets in the game.
Hayley Pompey (17), Paley Adams (13) and Mya Snyder (10) also scored in double figures as the Lady Meteors (12-3) bounced back from having their 11-game winning streak ended to hit their season-high for points in a game.
Kaylin Davis made four 3-pointers while leading Lakeland with 14 points.
Naomi Rude, Alexia Bauer and Jillian Contorno each hit three 3-pointers. Rude had 11 points while the other two did their only scoring from long range.
Montrose led 16-11 after one quarter when Mya Snyder scored six points while Mia Snyder and Adams had five each. Davis had eight of Lakeland’s points.
Bauer made three of her team’s six 3-pointers in the second quarter, but Montrose opened a 37-31 lead with 11 points by Mia Snyder and 6 by Pompey.
The Lady Meteors broke the game open with a 19-6 third quarter for a 56-37 lead.
Mia Snyder closed out the win with 14 points in the fourth quarter.
Montrose is the No. 4 Small School in the Riverfront Sports Super Six Basketball Power Rankings of District 2 teams.
Lakeland dropped to 6-10.
