All-state running backs Joe DeFebo from Wallenpaupack and Michael Perry from Dunmore led the way, each rushing for more than 100 yards and scoring when the City ran over the County, 34-7, in the 2010 Dream Game at Scranton Memorial Stadium.
DeFebo ran for 120 yards and 2 touchdowns. Perry averaged 10 yards per carry while finishing with 110 yards and a touchdown.
The County scored first when the Lakeland passing combination of Ryan Kiehart to Tony Peregrin connected for a 7-yard touchdown just 3:34 into the game.
The City steadily pounded out 306 rushing yards, using the ground attack to take the lead early in the second quarter, then break the game open early in the fourth.
With the win, the City evened the series at 36-36-4. It was the ninth and most recent time that the teams were even in wins in the football all-star game for recent high school graduates.
