Ranked teams keep winning

The teams that make up the Golden Dome Abstract Super Six Field Hockey Power Rankings of District 2 schools went 8-0-1 when they were not facing each other last week.

The only tie came when Wyoming Seminary took on Episcopal Academy, a non-Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association school from Newtown Square, in a meeting of teams that maxfieldhockey.com has ranked in the top 10 in the entire country.

When ranked teams met, the higher-ranked team won both meetings by 3-1 scores – No. 1 Wyoming Seminary or No. 3 Crestwood and No. 5 Honesdale over No. 6 Lackawanna Trail.

That all adds up to the rankings remaining the same this week.

The top five have been the same for the preseason and the first two in-season rankings.

Wyoming Seminary is followed, in order, by Wyoming Area, Crestwood, Lake-Lehman, Honesdale and Lackawanna Trail.

No. 2 Wyoming Area outscored two opponents, 13-0, during the week and has outscored its first three, 19-0.

Honesdale has the district’s best record at 6-0 with four shutouts and a 28-3 scoring margin after winning three times during the week.
