Sofia Goetter scored four goals and assisted on two Monday when Mid Valley defeated host Elk Lake, 7-3, to secure the Lackawanna League Division 3 girls soccer championship.
The Spartanettes and Lady Warriors went into last week sharing the lead with unbeaten division records.
Mid Valley established itself as the top team in the division with an 8-2, home win in their first head-to-head meeting Wednesday, then drove the point home in Monday’s rematch.
Elise Larson added two goals and two assists in the win.
Madison Kizer also had a goal while Raelen Krauser and Deven DiPippo had the other assists.
Karina Goetter led the rout in the first meeting by scoring six goals.
Mid Valley, which went just 3-9-2 in the division a year ago, improved to 9-0 in the division and 11-4 overall with one game remaining.
Elk Lake dropped to 7-2 and 8-6.
The Spartanettes have outscored division opponents, 73-6, including 58-1 in games other than those against second-place Elk Lake.
