Shane Macko had 13 kills and 12 digs Monday as Tunkhannock outlasted host Holy Redeemer in five sets in the match to decide first place in Wyoming Valley Conference boys volleyball.

The Tigers and Royals, who each lost non-league matches Saturday, were the last two unbeatens within the WVC.
Tunkhannock won the lengthy match, 22-25, 25-17, 25-13, 27-29, 15-13, to expand its lead from one-half to one full match over the new second-place team, Dallas.
The Tigers, ranked third in the Riverfront Sports Super Six Power Rankings of District 2 teams, had been 11-0 before losing to a pair of District 11 opponents Saturday. They improved to 9-0 in the WVC, with two matches remaining, and 12-2 overall.
Top-ranked Holy Redeemer had an eight-match winning streak ended by Blue Ridge Saturday. The Royals fell to 7-1 and 9-3.
Brady Slacktish had 10 kills while Jakob Staffy had 41 assists for Tunkhannock.
Matt Prociak led Holy Redeemer with 34 kills, 10 blocks, 5 digs and 5 points. Charlie Floryan contributed 46 assists, 7 digs, 7 service points and 3 kills.
