Wyoming Seminary will be the site of some of the nation’s best high school field hockey with a series of games at Klassner Field Saturday.

The host Blue Knights are one of three nationally ranked teams in action in a tripleheader that also includes the top two teams in the Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 standings.

Wyoming Seminary, ranked eighth nationally by maxfieldhockey.com, plays No. 18 Sacred Heart Academy from Louisville, Ky. at 10 a.m.

Sacred Heart then takes on Lake-Lehman, which is second to Wyoming Seminary in the WVC Division 1 standings and has won nine straight to get to 10-1 overall, at noon.

Wyoming Seminary plays No. 5 Eastern Regional from Voorhees, N.J. at 6:30. Eastern is the only team to beat former No. 1 Episcopal Academy, which last week handed Wyoming Seminary its only loss.

The 5-sport, 36-event schedule includes a first-place showdown in girls soccer and football games at five different starting times.

Montrose (8-1) is at Lakeland (7-1 in the division, 9-1 overall) in Lackawanna League Division 2 girls soccer.

Lakeland has a .666-.652 ratings lead for the top seed in District 2 Class A, which Montrose won last year. Montrose has a half-game lead in Division 2 over Lakeland, which won last year.

Montrose has outscored its last four opponents by a total of 47-1 since the Lady Chiefs handed the Lady Meteors their only loss, 3-1.

The football schedule has Berwick at Wyoming Valley West at noon, Lackawanna Trail at Holy Cross at 1 p.m., Honesdale at Scranton Prep at 1:30 p.m., Wilkes-Barre Area against Tunkhannock at Lake-Lehman at 3 p.m. and Susquehanna at Carbondale at 6 p.m.

Berwick and Wyoming Valley West are both 3-3.

Lackawanna Trail (1-0, 4-1) tries to move a half-game in front of Old Forge in Lackawanna Football Conference Division 4 when it faces Holy Cross (0-1, 3-3).

Scranton Prep (2-0, 5-0) looks to extend its LFC Division 2 lead when it plays Honesdale (0-1, 2-4).

There are also boys soccer games and girls volleyball matches on the schedule.

The non-league boys soccer schedule includes Holy Redeemer (7-5) at Dunmore (10-1).
