Most of the Saturday action in District 2, including the most prominent events, gets started in the morning.
North Pocono travels to Wallenpaupack for an 11 a.m. baseball game with the chance to clinch the Lackawanna League Division 2 title with a victory. The Trojans are 8-0 in the league and 12-2 overall. The host Buckhorns are in second place at 7-2 and 13-3.
Abington Heights will look to clinch at least a tie for the Lackawanna Division 1 softball title in another 11 a.m. start. The Comets (8-1, 12-1) host Valley View (5-6, 10-7) and can take the championship if they win and West Scranton also loses to Scranton Prep.
The first three rounds – out of five – in each of the two District 2 boys tennis doubles tournaments are also on the schedule, with 9 a.m. starts. The Class 2A tournament is at Kirby Park in Wilkes-Barre and Class 3A is at the North Pocono Middle School in Moscow.
