Holy Redeemer and Delaware Valley, the top seeds in the two postseason tournaments, continue to hold down the top two spots in this week’s Riverfront Sports Super Six Boys Volleyball Power Rankings of District 2 teams.
The rankings, which were released Friday afternoon, have Wyoming Valley Conference champion Holy Redeemer in first. The Royals are the top seed in the District 1-2-11 Class AA Subregional tournament where they advanced to the semifinals by winning their first game.
Delaware Valley, the top seed and a semifinalist in the District 2 Class 3A tournament, is second.
The third- through fifth-place teams also remained the same.
Lackawanna League champion Abington Heights is third, followed by Western Wayne and Blue Ridge. Abington Heights is awaiting its District 2 Class 3A semifinal match. Western Wayne and Blue Ridge are scheduled to meet Friday in the subregional semifinal.
Tunkhannock rejoined the rankings in the sixth spot after reaching the subregional semifinals. The Tigers replace North Pocono, which was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the same tournament.
