Tunkhannock girls move up

After the first 11 days of the winter sports season, only 7 of the 12 teams from the preseason Riverfront Sports Super Six Swimming Power Rankings of District 2 teams have had their first league meet and none has been beaten.

As a result, movement is minimal in the first rankings of the regular season.

Tunkhannock moves up from sixth to fifth in the girls rankings, swapping places with Delaware Valley for the only change.

The Lady Tigers opened with a 107-37 victory over Wyoming Valley West.

Delaware Valley won twice, but by smaller margins.

The Hazleton Area boys and Scranton Prep girls, each waiting for their opener, are the No. 1 teams.

Hazleton Area is followed, in order, in the boys rankings by Wyoming Seminary, Delaware Valley, Dallas, Scranton Prep and Holy Redeemer.

Wyoming Seminary, Dallas and Valley View remain 2-3-4 in the girls rankings.
