Two District 2 schools hired head basketball coaches at Monday night school board meetings.
Wilkes-Barre Area named Jim Lavan as its boys coach while Riverside appointed Justin Kearney as girls coach.
It is the first head coaching position for each. Both have served as assistants in multiple positions.
