WEDNESDAY RECAP: Henneforth leads WW volleyball win

Matt Henneforth had 16 kills, including the 500th of his career, Wednesday to lead Western Wayne to a 25-12, 25-13, 25-8, Lackawanna League boys volleyball sweep of visiting Mountain View.

Caleb Hoch had 23 assists while Josh Mahnke and Brett Schane chipped in with 5 kills each to help the Wildcats improve to 4-2 in the league and 7-3 overall.

Elsewhere:

Holy Redeemer posted its seventh straight three-set sweep to begin the Wyoming Valley Conference season, downing Hanover Area, 25-7, 25-7, 25-11.

Matt Albrecht had 18 service points, including 3 aces, along with 8 assists and 4 kills. Matt Carty had a team-high six kills and Matt Prociak added five.

David Cooper’s 16 kills, 7 digs and 5 aces helped Dallas sweep Nanticoke, 25-19, 25-13, 25-18.

BOYS LACROSSE

Delaware Valley, which got its season off to a late start, posted its first win in its second WVC game.

The Warriors shut out Holy Redeemer, 22-0.

Delaware Valley scored eight goals in each of the first two quarters.

Nate Melnick led the offense with five goals.

Three goalies took part in the shutout with Henry Hamill and Connor Gaughan each making three saves and Liam MacCluggage making one.
