Max Kranick returned to Major League Baseball Saturday night, making his second career start for the Pittsburgh Pirates and taking the loss in a 4-2 victory by the host New York Mets in the second game of a National League doubleheader.
The Valley View graduate, who was perfect for five innings and got the win in his debut in St. Louis, returned to Triple-A for one start between his first two games with the Pirates.
Kranick struck out five in three innings, but allowed three runs on four hits with three walks.
Pete Alonso hit his 17th homer, a solo shot with two out in the third.
