Dallas, Hanover Area move up; Montrose rejoins golf rankings

Dallas and Hanover Area gained one position and Montrose moved back into this week’s Scranton Golf Center Super Six Power Rankings of District 2 teams.

The latest rankings were released Thursday afternoon before any of the day’s matches.

Abington Heights, in the Big Schools, and Lake-Lehman, in the Small Schools, held on to the top rankings.

Dallas replaced North Pocono in second among Big Schools after winning by 25 and 23 strokes to improve to 5-0.

North Pocono had a close call in a 5-4 victory over a one-win Valley View team among its two wins during the week. The Trojans dropped to third.

Crestwood and Hazleton Area remained unbeaten at 4-0 going into their Thursday match. They remain fourth and fifth.

Pittston Area lost twice, but held on to sixth. The Patriots are 3-3 with all three losses coming to the Wyoming Valley Conference’s three unbeaten Big Schools.

Lake-Lehman and Scranton Prep remained unbeaten to hold first and second among Small Schools.

Hanover Area split its two matches, losing to Lake-Lehman, but moved from fourth to third.

Riverside dropped from third to fourth after an upset loss to Holy Cross.

Unbeatens Mid Valley and Montrose are fifth and sixth.

Montrose replaced Lackawanna Trail after handing the Lions their first loss in a non-league match between the two Lackawanna League division leaders.
