Mid Valley takes 2A boys title

SCRANTON – Kyle Marcinkevich anchored the first two Mid Valley winners Thursday night when the Spartans captured the Class 2A boys title of the 66th annual Jordan Relays at Memorial Stadium.

Marcinkevich anchored the 4×100-meter relay, then followed it up by running a 400 leg to complete a win in the 1200 sprint medley.

Mid Valley won four straight events, all but the first and last events of the meet and took second in both of those events.

The Spartans scored 56 of a possible 60 points to repeat its championship and win at least a share of the 2A boys title for the third straight time.

Dunmore was a clear second with 40 points with the help of a win in the opening distance medley relay.

Montrose was third with 25 points and Blue Ridge had the other event win, taking the final event, the 4×400 relay.

Jomar Rodriguez, Darnell Calloway, Zachary Popko and Bradley Desmaris joined Marcinkevich in taking part in two of the relay wins for the Spartans.
