Montrose cross country in top 10

Both Montrose teams finished in the top 10 in their races Saturday at the prestigious 57th annual McQuaid Invitational at Genesee Valley Park in Rochester, N.Y.

The Lady Meteors were sixth and Meteors eighth in large fields.

Montrose competed in the Girls Varsity A-1 race, which drew 36 full teams plus runners from 26 other schools.

The Lady Meteors excelled with balance in their five-runner lineup, led by Stephanie Summerville and Mary Pichette finishing 34th and 38th out of 322 runners.

Montrose was eighth in the Boys Varsity A-1 race, which included 50 full teams and runners from 12 other schools.

Nate Sinkovich finished fifth out of 367 runners in 16:04.3.

Susquehanna and Blue Ridge also entered the McQuaid Invitational.

Blue Ridge was 20th and Susquehanna 26th out of 38 Girls Varsity A-2 teams.

Susquehanna was 30th and Blue Ridge 33rd out of 52 Boys Varsity A-2 teams.
