The start of the District 2 girls tennis singles tournament has been delayed for a second time, moving the tournament back to Monday and Tuesday.
Concerns about getting the tournament courts ready in time Friday morning to complete the first day of action in a timely manner led to the decision.
The tournament had originally been scheduled for Thursday and Friday, but a decision was made early Wednesday not to try to work through what, as expected, turned into a day full of adverse weather conditions.
Class 2A players will compete both days at Kirby Park in Wilkes-Barre.
The Class 3A portion of the tournament will be played Monday at the nearby Wilkes University courts.
Monday’s action is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
The semifinals and finals of both tournaments will be played Tuesday, beginning at 1 p.m., at Kirby Park.
