State championships will be on the line for District 2 athletes in Class 3A track and field and Class 2A boys tennis Saturday.
The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class 3A Track and Field Championships are scheduled for Shippensburg University, beginning at 9 a.m.
District 2 has at least one entry in every event, including javelin top seeds Matthew Prebola from Tunkhannock and Renny Murphy from Berwick.
Rain could be a factor at track and field, as it was at the end of the Class 2A championships Friday, but the forecast has improved from earlier predictions of almost constant rain throughout the day-long event.
The district also has entries left in the Class 2A boys tennis singles and doubles tournaments at the Hershey Racquet Club.
Both tournaments are down to the semifinals and have the final two rounds Saturday at the indoor facility.
Lenny Maiocco from Western Wayne is in the singles tournament while Tucker Chesman and Dan Flynn from Dallas are in doubles.
