The top two teams in the Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 standings and the Small School boys portion of the Riverfront United Super Six Soccer Power Rankings of District 2 teams go head-to-head Thursday to highlight a 58-event District 2 schedule across 8 sports.

Wyoming Area plays at Wyoming Seminary at Nesbitt Stadium at 5:30 p.m. in a meeting of 4-0 teams.

The visiting Warriors are second in both the rankings and the standings. They are 2-0 in the division.

Defending champion Wyoming Seminary is 3-0 in the division and first in the rankings.

Lackawanna League Division 1 leader Valley View (3-0 division, 4-0 overall) is at one of the three teams in a second-place tie, Wallenpaupack (2-1, 4-1). The unbeaten Cougars are ranked second among Big Schools.

Mountain View (2-1, 2-2) is at Montrose (3-0, 3-0) in a Lackawanna Division 2 girls soccer game. Montrose is the second-ranked Small School.

The top golf teams continue to lock up championships.

Scranton Prep (8-0, 10-0) has already clinched at least a tie for first in Lackawanna Division 1 and can take the title outright with a win at Valley View (1-6-2, 3-6-2).

Hazleton Area and Lackawanna Trail are each in position to clinch at least ties for first place.

Second-place Crestwood (5-2) is at Hazleton Area (6-0) in WVC Division 2.

Lackawanna Trail (7-0-1, 10-2-1) is at third-place Lakeland (5-4, 5-5) in Lackawanna Division 3.

Like the Crestwood-Hazleton Area match, the Abington Heights-at-North Pocono match features two of the Big Schools in the Scranton Golf Center Super Six Power Rankings of District 2 teams.

No. 1 Abington Heights (7-2, 9-2) is at No. 3 North Pocono (4-3, 5-3) in the Lackawanna Division 1 match.

Pittston Area (3-0, 3-2) is at Wallenpaupack (1-0-1, 2-1-1) in a key WVC Division 2 field hockey game. Last season, the teams tied for first and Wallenpaupack took the title in a playoff. Pittston Area leads the division and Wallenpaupack is tied for second.

West Scranton, 4-2 and No. 3 among Big Schools in the Riverfront Sports Super Six Girls Tennis Power Rankings, is at Riverside, 6-0 and No. 1 among Small Schools, in a Lackawanna League match.

Nanticoke (3-1) is at WVC leader Holy Redeemer (5-0) in girls volleyball. Nanticoke is ranked fifth and Holy Redeemer third in the Electric City Volleyball Academy Elite Eight Power Rankings.

North Pocono (3-2, 4-2) is at Division 2 leader Susquehanna (3-1) in a Lackawanna Division 1-2 crossover that is part of the standings.
