District 2’s top two teams go head-to-head in boys soccer and girls tennis Monday on a day that also includes tournament action in golf.

North Pocono is at Valley View in a 5:45 p.m. Lackawanna League Division 1 boys soccer game between the top two Big Schools in the Riverfront United Super Six Soccer Power Rankings of District 2 teams.

Former No. 1 North Pocono is 5-1 for second in the division and 8-1 overall for the second spot in the Super Six. Valley View is 6-0, 8-0 and ranked first.

The top two teams in the standings in each of the Lackawanna’s top two divisions go head-to-head.

Dunmore (5-0, 6-1) is at Holy Cross (4-0, 5-0) in Lackawanna Division 2. The Bucks, ranked fourth among Small Schools in the Super Six have a half-game edge on top-ranked Holy Cross.

The last two Lackawanna League unbeatens square off in girls tennis.

Scranton Prep, the top-ranked Small School in the Riverfront Sports Super Six Girls Tennis Power Rankings, is 10-0 going into its match at Abington Heights, which is 11-0 and ranked first among Big Schools. Scranton Prep is the defending league champion and both teams are defending District 2 champions.

Also in girls tennis, Crestwood (7-1) is at Holy Redeemer (6-2) in a Wyoming Valley Conference match. Crestwood is the No. 2 Big School while Holy Redeemer is the No. 5 Small School.

The WVC has its individual golf qualifier into the District 2 tournament, for both boys and girls, beginning at 9 a.m. at Fox Hill Country Club.

The Lackawanna League has a team playoff match with Class 3A top-seed Abington Heights (11-2) hosting Wallenpaupack (5-8-1) in a semifinal.

There are also key matchups in girls volleyball, girls soccer and field hockey.

First-place Holy Redeemer is at defending champion Berwick in WVC girls volleyball.

Holy Redeemer, ranked third in the Electric City Volleyball Academy Elite Eight Power Rankings of District 2 teams, is 8-0 to lead the WVC and 8-2 overall. No. 2 Berwick is 6-1 for third place in the WVC.

Lakeland is at Western Wayne in a game between Small School Super Six teams in Lackawanna Division 2 girls soccer.

No. 5 Lakeland (3-1, 5-1) is at No. 4 Western Wayne (3-0, 3-0-1).

Wyoming Area is at Berwick in a non-league game between ranked teams that are 5-2. Wyoming Area is No. 2 among Small Schools and tied for second place in WVC Division 2. Berwick is No. 6 among Big Schools and tied for second in WVC Division 1.

The top field hockey game has Honesdale (3-1, 6-1) at Crestwood (2-2, 6-2) in WVC Division 1. Crestwood is ranked third and Honesdale is ranked fifth in the Golden Dome Abstract Super Six Power Rankings of District 2 teams.
