Aaron Crossley tied a school record in the 100-meter dash Wednesday when Wyoming Area took a major step toward a successful defense of its Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 boys track and field title with an 88-61 victory over Holy Redeemer.
Crossley won the 100 in 10.70 seconds and also won the 200.
The meet matched the last two unbeatens in the division.
Drew Mruk won the shot put and the javelin for Wyoming Area, which improved to 4-0.
Grant Smith won the 800, 1600 and 3200 for Holy Redeemer (2-1).
Wyoming Area also remained unbeaten in WVC Division 2 girls with a 91½-47½ victory.
Madelyn Keating won the 800 and 1600 along with being part of two relay wins.
Other boys-girls sweeps were posted by Hazleton Area over Wyoming Valley West in WVC Division 1; Abington Heights over Scranton Prep in Lackawanna Track Conference Division 1; and Wallenpaupack over Delaware Valley in LTC Division 2.
Both Hazleton Area teams and both Wallenpaupack teams moved a half-meet in front of their division races.
The Abington Heights teams moved into ties for the LTC Division 1 lead with Valley View. The Abington Heights girls ran their dual meet winning streak to 87 with a 115-26 rout.
West Scranton defeated Scranton, 82-68, for its first girls win since 2014.
