Leo Haros led a 343-yard ground game and Jayden Rusyn led a defense that only allowed 6 first downs Friday night when Wyoming Area defeated visiting Lake-Lehman, 42-7, in a Wyoming Valley Conference Class 3A Division game.
Haros carried 13 times for 148 yards while Nico Sciandra ran 5 times for 93 yards. Each ran for two touchdowns.
Rusyn, who also had one of Wyoming Area’s six rushing touchdowns, made five tackles and assisted on three others. He caused a fumble and made one of his tackles for a loss.
Haros scored the first two touchdowns on a 12-yard run midway through the first quarter and a 25-yarder early in the second.
Rusyn scored from the 3 and Rocco Pizano from the 5 before the half ended, giving Wyoming Area a 28-0 lead.
The game switched to the Mercy Rule with 7:26 left in the third quarter on Sciandra’s 5-yard run.
Sciandra also added the last Wyoming Area touchdown on a 46-yard run early in the fourth quarter.
The Warriors improved to 6-1.
Lake-Lehman (3-3) got its only touchdown when Landon Schuckers threw a 4-yard pass to Colby Roberts late in the third quarter.
