Wyoming Seminary is the last unbeaten Class 2A team in District 2 and by remaining perfect, the Blue Knights have climbed for the second straight week to the point where they are now the top-ranked Small School team in the Riverfront Sports Super Six Girls Tennis Power Rankings of District 2 teams.
The new rankings were released Saturday night.
North Pocono and West Scranton also moved up as there was some shifting of positions, but the 12 teams that are ranked remained the same.
Wyoming Valley Conference-leading Wyoming Seminary is 12-0 with five straight 5-0 victories. The closest match was 3-2 in non-league play against State College and the Blue Knights have won 10 straight 5-0 matches in the WVC since beating Dallas, 4-1, in the opener.
The Blue Knights, who have clinched no worse than a tie for first place in the WVC, replace Scranton Prep, which suffered its first loss against Abington Heights, in the No. 1 spot.
The Classics dropped from first to second.
Riverside held third despite a loss to Scranton Prep.
Dallas extended its winning streak to nine to hold fourth.
Holy Redeemer and Holy Cross each had 3-0 weeks to remain in fifth and sixth.
North Pocono and West Scranton moved up to second and third, each gaining one position, in the Big School rankings, which are for Class 3A teams. West Scranton won three times during the week.
Lackawanna League leader Abington Heights, the only unbeaten team in Class 3A and the only one in the Lackawanna, remains as the Big School No. 1 as it has been all season.
Crestwood lost two of its three matches during the week, losing 4-1 to ranked Small Schools Dallas and Holy Redeemer, to slip from second to fourth.
Wallenpaupack and Delaware Valley held on to fifth and sixth.
