The weather conditions that already wiped out two large golf tournaments before the day started wound up eliminating all but one match from the Opening Day of the Wyoming Valley Conference girls’ tennis season.
As of 3 p.m. Monday, the only match left on the schedule was Hazleton Area at Pittston Area in a 4:15 p.m. start.
The day’s top match, Dallas at defending champion Wyoming Seminary, was called off Monday morning. Three other matches were postponed throughout the day and one was moved prior to Monday.
