Valley View spread the carries, catches and even points around Friday night while remaining unbeaten with another dominant effort, opening a 42-point halftime lead on the way to a 48-14 romp at Honesdale in a Lackawanna Football Conference Division 2 game.
Ten players were involved in the scoring. The seven touchdowns came from seven different players, two more got involved in conversions and another, who did not score, threw one of the touchdown passes.
Valley View ran for 309 yards with 10 players splitting up the 10 carries and no one running more than 7 times.
Dominic Memo went 7-for-8 passing and A.J. Kucharski was 1-for-2 with each throwing a touchdown pass.
The eight completions went to seven receivers with only Taheed Jewell catching two.
Valley View scored three times in each of the first two quarters while improving to 2-0 in the division and 8-0 overall.
Connor Hilling started the scoring with an 8-yard run with 5:06 left in the first quarter and the Cougars added two more touchdowns in the next 4:05.
Memo threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Zack Rudalavage and Colin Skeen ran 61 yards for a score.
Valley View added three short touchdowns runs in the second quarter for a 42-0 halftime lead. Andrew Heid scored from the 2, Dante Randle from the 4 and Camryn Higgins from the 1.
The Cougars made it 48-0 with 2:48 left in the third quarter when Kucharski threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Christopher Savkov.
Honesdale (0-3 and 2-6) scored twice in the last seven minutes. Max Mickel ran 50 yards and Jake Mundy returned a punt 35 yards for the scores.
Skeen led Valley View rushers with 82 yards on 3 carries, Hilling had 67 yards on 7 carries and Higgins had 55 on 7.
Memo passed for 88 yards and a touchdown while also running for a two-point conversion.
Matt Cole was 4-for-5 on extra-point kicks.
Chris Conserette and Robert Altieri led the defense with two tackles for losses each. Conserette had a team-high five tackles. One of Altieri’s tackles for losses was a sack.
