Millionaires rout Spartans, 40-7

The Williamsport offense produced 21 first-quarter points and the Millionaires defense limited Wyoming Valley West to 111 yards total offense Friday night while defeating the visiting Spartans, 40-7, in a Wyoming Valley Conference Class 6A/5A Division game.

Wyoming Valley West played without 1,200-yard running back Isaiah Cobb because of an injury.

Williamsport improved to 4-4 while Wyoming Valley West dropped to 3-5.

The Millionaires led 21-0 after one quarter and 33-7 at halftime.

Williamsport quarterback George Whaley threw touchdown passes of 50, 83 and 67 yards in the first half.

Jaden Swainbank, who led the Spartans with 61 rushing yards on 11 carries, scored on a 2-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.
