Harry Pugliese ran for three first-half touchdowns Friday night and the Pittston Area defense did the rest in a 21-0 shutout of visiting Nanticoke in a non-league football game between Wyoming Valley Conference teams.
Pugliese scored on runs of 20 and 77 yards in the first quarter and 12 yards in the second quarter to help Pittston Area improve to 2-4.
Nanticoke (1-5) also moved the ball on the ground with Zach Fox carrying 30 times for 115 yards, but the Trojans could not turn that into points.
Pittston Area had much more offensive balance.
The passing of Drew DeLucca and the running of Pugliese, who averaged 10 yards on his 14 carries, combined to produce more than 300 yards.
