North Pocono posted its third shutout in the last four games and fourth overall Friday night, stopping visiting Scranton, 21-0, to hold on to a share of first place in Lackawanna Football Conference Division 1 heading into the season finale.
The Trojans, who have allowed just three touchdowns in the last six games, ran their winning streak to seven. North Pocono is 3-0 in the division and 8-1 overall, heading into the regular-season finale where it will host Delaware Valley in a game that will break the first-place tie.
Michael Blaine and Will Soma each were involved in two touchdowns in the win.
Blaine ran 11 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter, then caught a 6-yard pass from Soma in the second.
Soma ran for the last touchdown early in the fourth quarter.
A.J. Ambrosecchia deflected a pass that A.J. LaFave picked off for his third interception of the year and North Pocono repeatedly shut down Scranton drives.
