Maximus Madden led a ground game that overpowered Nanticoke by running for four touchdowns Friday night while leading visiting Shamokin to a 40-13, non-league football victory.
Seth Raymer and Zach Fox scored Nanticoke’s touchdowns on 1-yard runs.
Shamokin led, 14-0, after one quarter before Raymer scored midway through the second. The Indians then opened the lead to 28-6 at halftime.
Fox scored the only touchdown of the fourth quarter.
Nanticoke is the only winless team in the Wyoming Valley Conference at 0-4.
