Buckhorns bash Hornets, 41-6

Wallenpaupack’s Shadrak Agyei

Shadrak Agyei rushed for 193 yards and scored on a short touchdown run in each of the first three quarters Friday night as host Wallenpaupack ripped rival Honesdale, 41-6, in a non-league football opener.

Agyei, last season’s Lackawanna Football Conference Division 1 Offensive Player of the Year, gave the Buckhorns a 7-0 lead after one quarter.

Roman Levant kicked the first of his two field goals, a 36-yarder, to help expand the lead to 17-0 at halftime.

Wallenpaupack broke the game open with 24 points in the third quarter, reaching the Mercy Rule just 4:12 into the second half.

Mabret Levant sandwiched a 13-yard touchdown run and a 15-yard scoring pass to T.J. Schmalzle around Agyei’s third touchdown, with all those scores coming during a span of 3:09 early in the third quarter.

Agyei’s touchdowns covered 5 yards in the first, 2 in the second and 3 in the third.

Honesdale’s C.J. Hinton scored on a 3-yard run with 4:32 left.
