Freshman Chris Doyle ran for 271 yards and 2 touchdowns Friday night to lead unbeaten Milton past winless Holy Redeemer, 35-12, in a non-league high school football game played in Danville.
Doyle helped the Black Panthers overcome a big game by the Holy Redeemer passing combination of Jacob Hunter to Justice Shoats.
Hunter finished 18-for-31 for 253 yards passing. Shoats had 6 catches for 145 yards while Zach Perta had 7 catches for 85 yards.
Shoats caught two touchdown passes from Hunter. An 18-yarder tied the game, 6-6, early in the second quarter. A 54-yard touchdown cut the Milton lead to 21-12 midway through the third.
Holy Redeemer finished with negative rushing yardage.
